Every storm passes! Whether it is Anxiety? Depression? Relationship issues? Grief? Trauma? Sexual abuse?, or trouble communicating with a teenager or family member, having a safe person to talk to and feeling heard are key elements to the counseling process. Hi, my name is Lori. I was raised on a farm in Nebraska with two parents, as the middle child with six siblings; two older brothers and two younger brothers, one older sister and one younger sister. I’m married with four adult children, a son-in-law and grandchildren. After graduating from college, I taught P.E. for five years, then resigned to raise our four children. I always knew I wanted to be a counselor and after our youngest child graduated from high school, I began the master’s program at UNK to become a mental health counselor, graduating in December of 2013. I’ve worked in an acute mental health hospital and as an outpatient counselor, finding my fit at Live Well Counseling Center. Life is full of obstacles and transitions and can be very stormy at times. The one thing I know for sure is that every storm passes, the key is to hunker down, stay safe and ask for help.
